The Belgian high school Sint-Bavohumaniora organized the “International Science Week” as a way to promote science and technology among their 15- to 17-year-old-students. For that reason, BIOGEL students Delphine Blondel, Luis Paulo Busca Guerzoni, Arturo Castro Nava, Marcel van Dongen, Jonas Rose and Dr. Laura De Laporte participated as Marie Curie Ambassadors during a 2-day event in Ghent, Belgium. During the first day, the BIOGEL students gave a short presentation about their current projects, and later on arranged some activities to interact with the young students. On the next day, 59 high school students had the opportunity to take part in 5 different workshops, which aimed to highlight the importance of hydrogels in current and future applications. Finally, Dr. De Laporte gave an interesting lecture on tissue engineering and encouraged the students to peruse a career in science.
